Overview

Sage Copilot is your new productivity assistant, powered by Sage Ai, designed to help you, offering you key insights, automating routine tasks and enabling better decision making.

Sage Copilot brings powerful new capabilities to your retail operations through one of our first agents, the Retail Intelligence agent, and built-in guidance.

What is Sage Ai?

Sage Ai is your business intelligence engine. Sage Ai is more than artificial. Built on decades of expertise and data, it's AI designed for real-world outcomes. That’s authentic intelligence.

Accessing Sage Copilot

If Sage Copilot is available for a page, you’ll see the Sage Copilot icon on the top left of your screen in Inventory Planner. Click on it to view your recommendations for that page.

You may see tips, best practice guides, or insights. Sage Copilot will also tell you if an insight is recalculating or has been recently updated.

Retail Intelligence Agent

Our Retail Intelligence Agent gives you clear, targeted insights so you always know what’s going on across your business. You get continuous, reliable insights that help you improve inventory profitability and focus your spending on what really drives results. It also flags anomalies in your data to keep your inventory planning accurate, and it highlights things that are easy to miss, so you can act quickly. With better visibility into risks and opportunities, you can stay ahead and make confident inventory decisions.

Insights highlight important data for the page and suggest any relevant next steps. The two types of insights you’ll see are:

  • Profit optimization insights
Focus spend on what drives the most return

  • Anomaly detection insights
    Extra accuracy for inventory planning

Priority replenishments

The “Priority replenishments” Insight analyzes your A-class variants and lists any that are currently out of stock, or that are at risk of going out of stock during their lead times, along with their value.

By displaying these variants, Sage Copilot provides a clear and instant visibility, in financial terms, of the scale of your priority replenishments, helping to improve your cash flow and efficiency.

It also links to the Replenishment page pre-filtered to display the variants so you can begin reviewing them immediately.

PO value review

The “PO value review” Insight summarizes the value of purchase order items, helping you evaluate if you’ve created the optimal purchase order to maximize revenue. It expresses the total cost on the purchase order using ABC analysis.

It generates once the purchase order is saved.

Having a breakdown of your purchase order’s value helps with your decision-making, as you can easily see whether you’re buying the right split of items for your business.

This Insight links to the “Add variants” modal filtered to missing A-class variants so you can easily add them to the purchase order. The insight also lets you view the C-class variants already on the purchase order in case you want to reduce their quantities or swap them for missing A-class variants.

Anomaly detection insights

Overdue on order

The “Overdue on order” Insight highlights stock orders whose expected due date has passed, but which still have outstanding inventory.

Overdue orders can affect Inventory Planner’s stock forecasts and replenishment recommendations, so it’s important to update their due dates, or, if applicable, quantities. If your order data is up to date, your stock forecast will be more accurate.

This Insight makes easy to manage stock orders in need of attention by linking to the Stock orders list, filtered for those orders. You can also email a one-off report containing those orders.

    • Unless combined with the “Combine sales, ignore stock and purchase orders” rule

  • When replenishment recalculates (for example, after a purchase order is created or updated)

Variants missing cost prices

The “Variants missing cost prices” Insight lists any variants with missing cost price data, so you have a clear picture of which variants may need updating without having to manually check.

Missing cost price data can lead to incorrect metrics and other calculations in Inventory Planner, so it’s important to ensure your records are up to date.

This Insight links you to the Catalog filtered to display those variants. It also provides an option to export the variants in case you’re managing prices on another platform or plan to import the prices into Inventory Planner.

Note that bundles are excluded from this insight, as they derive their cost prices from their components.

No relevant insight available

You may see a message stating that there are no relevant insights available for you. This message means that Sage Copilot hasn’t found anything notable with your data and has no suggestions to offer at this time.

Sage Copilot will check for new insights as you carry out your tasks, and once it detects something alert you to, it will update to display the relevant insight.

Recalculating and refreshed insights

Insights may change as your data changes. Each insight recalculates based on specific criteria–for example, on a sync or when saving a purchase order. When in the process of refreshing, the panel displays a notice stating it’s recalculating, and once Sage Copilot has finished the recalculation, you’ll see another notice informing you the insight has changed and must be refreshed.

Built-in guidance

Sage Copilot provides clear guidance and best practices to help you and your team use every inventory planning feature with confidence, whether you have new colleagues, or you’re discovering new features, or scaling your business.

Guides provide more context on the pages you’re viewing while navigating Inventory Planner. They display helpful definitions and explain concepts that may be complicated or poorly understood. They link you to further resources you can explore to deepen your understanding.
