An IP warehouse is used when your store has inventory in a location that does not fulfill customer orders directly. This manual warehouse is used to transfer stock to other locations that do handle order fulfillment.

In Inventory Planner, IP warehouse stock is imported when the warehouse is created. Then stock is added through receiving a purchase order or warehouse transfer. Stock is depleted by creating a transfer to another location. Finally, stock can be manually updated within Inventory Planner if a correction is needed.

Without sales information attached to the manual warehouse, you will want to either:

  1. Create a combined warehouse to see demand and total inventory levels across locations. Learn about how to set up a combined warehouse for various replenishment scenarios. Check out our video to learn about how an IP and combined warehouse can be used together.

  2. Disable all locations so that you see combined information by default.

Create a Manual Warehouse

To set up an IP warehouse, go to Account > Settings

Click '+ New IP Warehouse' at the bottom of the screen.

You will have the option to add all of your variants to the IP warehouse (default)

Or you can choose if only variants from certain warehouses should be associated with the IP Warehouse. To do this, click on 'add all variants in IP warehouse' and select the warehouse containing variants to add to your IP warehouse. Here, 'FBA US' warehouse variants are the only ones to be shown in the IP Warehouse.

Add Stock to IP Warehouse

To add stock to your IP warehouse, click on Replenishment from the left menu, and then click on variants under your the new warehouse.

There are several ways to add stock from here. You can add inventory levels by clicking on the Stock column. (Enable the 'Stock' column by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner.)

Import IP Warehouse Stock

If you have inventory levels to enter for several variants, then you could import this information instead. In Replenishment, click on Import at the bottom of the screen, then select "variant Settings".

You can see the available columns listed on the right hand side of the import section.

(We also offer the ability to download a CSV template, with the available columns for adjustment)

When your CSV file is prepared and ready, you can drag the file to the import section, or click to select your file.

Once Uploaded, you will be taken to a field mapping screen, where you can check and confirm the columns on the file are mapped to the desired settings.

For IP Warehouse Stock, you can select the warehouse and also map the Stock level column, to the "IP Warehouse/IP Variant Stock" row, seen highlighted below:

Click 'Import' to complete the import.

You will then see an import summary screen, that will confirm changes or if any errors were experienced during the import.
