Inventory Planner tracks the history of stockouts (days when a variant is out of stock) starting with the date you create your Inventory Planner account. Stockout history prior to that date is not available.
If you have stockout history available from another program, you can import that information into your Inventory Planner account. This can help to produce a more accurate forecast more quickly.
Inventory Planner takes into account stockouts when calculating the forecast and replenishment recommendations. Read more about how the forecast is calculated here.
Importing Stockout History
Note: importing stockout history does not adjust the stored stock history, only the number of stockouts.
Create a spreadsheet with the following information and including a column title for each:
- SKU or other identifier such as Title, ID (used by your sales platform), Inventory Planner ID, Vendor Reference, or Barcode.
- Month and Year when stockouts occurred using 'mm/yyyy' format, for example 01/2020.
- Number of stockouts during that month. Each day when the item was out of stock will count as a stockout.
Go to Replenishment > Import > Stockouts.
Click to Select or Drag the file you've created with stockout history, to the import section.
We also offer the ability to download a CSV template.
In the import dialog, be sure to select the correct identifier. SKU will be the identifier used by default.
Also select the warehouse that this information relates to.
When all fields are matched to the corresponding field in Inventory Planner, select Import.
