If you have the same variant available to buy on multiple platforms (e.g. Shopify and Amazon), or via both FBM and FBA, you’ll need to connect those listings back to the variant in Inventory Planner.
The listings will usually be linked automatically as long as they have an identifier that matches an identifier in Inventory Planner.
Note: FBM listings and FBA listings will always sync as separate variants, even if the listings share the same ASIN.
Identifiers for Amazon listings
Inventory Planner considers the following identifiers for Amazon listings:
ASIN: Assigned by Amazon to distinct products (not listings) – i.e. if there are two separate listings for the same product, Amazon assigns them the same ASIN, regardless of whether the items are listed by the same merchant. ASINs are used so buyers can see all offers for the same product on a single page. ASIN is an Amazon-only field.
SKU: Assigned by the merchant. Must be unique per listing.
FNSKU: Assigned by Amazon to FBA listings. FNSKU is an Amazon-only field.
Barcode: Usually the same as “ASIN”, but you can contact Inventory Planner support to map this field to “Product ID” (or “Part number” for Premium accounts) instead.
Automatically linking multiple Amazon listings
Because Amazon does not allow separate listings to share a SKU, when you create multiple listings for the same product, the SKUs for each listing must differ. For example, if you’re selling a product via both FBA and FBM, you can append your SKU with “FBA” or “FBM” for the appropriate listing.
Because the SKU on such listings differs from the SKU stored in Inventory Planner, the listings won’t automatically link to the variant. In such cases, you can contact the Inventory Planner support team to combine listings based on ASIN. If it’s not possible to combine listings on ASIN, then you may have to link the listings manually.
Inactive listings
A listing may be marked as “inactive” in Seller Central. When a listing is marked as inactive, Inventory Planner sets the listing to be “non-visible”, and the product will not be included in the Replenishment report.
Furthermore, Amazon stops returning information related to inactive listings to Inventory Planner, which may result in discrepancies with stock or other data.
Incomplete products (“search suppressed ASINs”)
If your listing on Amazon is missing certain required information, Amazon considers it to be incomplete and suppresses it, hiding it from buyers in their search. Learn more about suppressed listings here.
Inventory Planner syncs incomplete products, but marks them as “removed”, so they don’t display.
If you want to view products linked to suppressed listings, contact Inventory Planner support.
