IP tags (Inventory Planner tags) allow you to assign descriptions to products within your Inventory Planner account. You can use these tags to group, filter and search for products on various reports.

Note: Tags are assigned on the product level by default. If you would like to assign tags on the variant level instead, contact Inventory Planner Support.

Note: Tags are distinct from Labels, which are descriptions generated by Inventory Planner. Learn more about labels here.

Assigning IP tags to products

In the Replenishment report, select the products you would like to tag, then click on Bulk Actions > Add IP Tags.

In the popup, type in the name of the tag you would like to add. If you are entering a new tag, simply type in the name and hit Enter to create it.

If you're assigning a tag you have already created, they'll appear in the dropdown when you're typing your tag name.

When creating new tags it is advisable to check whether the tag has already been created and, if so, to use the existing tag in order to maintain consistency and avoid making variations on the same tag.

Removing IP tags

To remove IP tags, select the products in Replenishment, then click Bulk Actions > Remove IP tags.

You will be prompted to choose the tag to remove, or choose to remove all tags.

After specifying what to remove, click "Apply" to remove the tags.

Importing IP tags

You can import IP tags using a CSV file containing SKUs (or another identifier) and IP tags. Import multiple IP tags by separating each one with a semicolon - for example, IPTag1; IPTag2; IPTag3.

Viewing IP tags

You can view IP tags by going to the relevant report and clicking the cog icon on the right-hand side of the page and adding the "IP tags" column.

You can also view certain reports by IP tag.

The reports you can view by IP tag are:

  • Replenishment

  • Edit forecast

  • Overstock

  • Inventory KPIs

  • Year-on-year

  • Stock and commitment

  • Aging analysis

  • Stock history

  • Delivery schedule

  • Goods received note

  • Compare warehouses

  • Assortment
