The Google Analytics 4 connector provides page view analytics for your products on your webstores. Google Analytics works with the following connectors:

  • BigCommerce

  • CSV ('permalink' column)

  • eBay

    • To use the GA4 connector with Linnworks, you must set up an Extended Property for url_key, as we sync handles from the 'ItemExtendedProperties' element where "PropertyName": "url_key".

  • Magento 2

  • Neto

  • Prestashop

  • Shopify

  • Snowflake

  • WooCommerce

Connecting to Google Analytics 4

To connect your store to Google Analytics, go to Account > Settings > Connections and warehouses. At the bottom of the page, click "New connection", then click "Google Analytics 4".

On the next page, click "Connect" at the bottom of the page.

You will then be prompted to log into Google (if not already logged in).

Allow access to Inventory Planner. Click "Continue".

After allowing access, you'll be redirected back to Inventory Planner, where you'll be asked to name the connection and select the Google Analytics property that the connection should use. The property defines what data is pulled in to Inventory Planner.

Next, select the connection to link to the Google Analytics data. The connection should match the site the selected Google Analytics property is used on.

Once you're happy with your configuration, click Save changes.

Setting up multiple Google Analytics connectors

If you want to connect multiple properties to Inventory Planner, you must set up a new Google Analytics 4 connector per property. Make sure you give each connection an identifiable Name.

Displaying Google Analytics information in Inventory Planner

Connecting your Inventory Planner account to Google Analytics will bring in page view information. The last six months will be pulled by default for new connections.

You can add page views as a column in the Replenishment, Overstock, Inventory KPIs and Compare warehouses reports. Note that page views are only visible when viewing products, not variants.

The Google Analytics metrics also influence labels in the Overstock report.

Troubleshooting the Google Analytics 4 connector

When I try to connect, I get an 'Undefined array key "refresh_token"' error.

Sometimes Google doesn't provide complete authentication data, which usually happens if you've already given permission for an application like Inventory Planner to use your Google data.

If you're coming across this error, visit your Google account's Manage Connections page and remove Inventory Planner from your list of connections. Then log back into Inventory Planner and start the connection process again.
