If you’re viewing an assembly or an assembly component, you’ll see some additional metrics compared to the Replenishment tab for simple variants. This article explains what differences you can expect to see.
Replenishment tab for assemblies
Replenishment overview
In the Replenishment overview section, you’ll see the following changes:
Change | Field | Replaces | Description |
Addition | Next to assemble | Replenishment | The assembly recommendation and date. |
Inventory forecast
In the Inventory forecast section, you’ll see the following changes:
Change | Field | Replaces | Description |
Addition | On assembly order | On purchase order | The total unreceived quantity on assembly orders with a status type ‘Active’. |
Removal | PO cover |

|
Forecast stock chart
The forecast stock chart is split into the following sections:
Component LT
Assembly time
Component DoS
For assemblies, the “Lost revenue” line is by assembly order date, rather than purchase order date.
You will also see a checkbox to “Show forecast for components”. If checked, a forecast stock chart for each of the assembly’s components is displayed below the assembly’s.
Ready time forecast
This section replaces the “Lead time forecast” section. It tells you how many assemblies you’re expected to receive, send and sell before all components can be replenished and used to build the finished goods.
Field | Description |
Components lead time | The total lead time in days, taken from Replenishment, of the assembly’s components.
The lead time date range is also displayed.
Click the icon to display a popup with more information. You’ll see a table with two columns:
This data is taken from the “Components lead time” column in Replenishment. |
Assembly time | The time to build the assembly, added to the “Components lead time” to calculate the total “Ready time” period. |
RT opening stock | The number of units of stock at the beginning of the ready time period. |
RT forecast sales | The number of units forecast to sell during the ready time period. |
RT closing stock | The number of units of stock at the end of the ready time period. |
Components days of stock forecast
This section replaces the “Days of stock forecast” section. It explains how many builds are required by the end of an assembly’s components’ days of stock.
Field | Description |
Components days of stock | The total days of stock for the components, taken from Replenishment. The days of stock date range is also displayed. Click the icon to display a popup with more information. You’ll see a table with two columns:
This data is taken from the “Components days of stock” column in Replenishment. |
DoS opening stock | The number of units of stock at the beginning of days of stock period. |
DoS forecast sales | The number of units forecast to sell during the days of stock period. |
DoS closing stock | The number of units of stock at the end of the days of stock period. |
Recommended assembly orders
This section is exclusive to assemblies. It displays the recommended production schedule, highlighting any constraints such as limited component inventory. Use this section to identify and understand the cause of any disruptions and to plan ahead.
On the top right of the section, you’ll see the assembly time and assembly cycle. Below that, you’ll see a table containing the following:
Column | Description |
Recommended assembly order# | Matches the order numbers displayed in the “Forecast stock” chart. |
To assemble | The number of units to assemble on the associated assembly order, with the total replenishment displayed beneath. |
Start date | The recommended start date for the assembly order. |
Details | A message explaining any limitations with the “to assemble” quantity. |
Replenishment tab for assembly components
Replenishment overview
In the Replenishment overview section, you’ll see the following changes:
Change | Field | Replaces | Description |
Addition | Current stock |
| Includes ‘in assemblies’ |
Inventory forecast
In the Inventory forecast section, you’ll see the following changes:
Change | Field | Replaces | Description |
Addition | On assembly out |
| The total number of units required to build unreceived parent assemblies (on assembly orders with a status type of ‘Active’). |
This section displays how many units are committed to builds, so you can see how much inventory will be consumed by assemblies.
Forecast stock chart
The forecast stock chart is the same as for standard variants, but highlights when stock should be allocated to recommended assembly orders.
Recommended parent assembly orders
This section is exclusive to assembly components. It shows you how many units of the component are required to build parent assemblies on recommended assembly orders, split by assembly product.
The table displays:
Column | Description |
Parent assembly | The parent’s assembly name. Clicking the arrow will open the assembly parent’s details page in a new tab. |
Start date | The recommended start date for the assembly order.
|
To assemble | The remaining number of units of the parent assembly to place an order for, with a total for each assembly SKU. |
Component quantity | Number of units of the component required for the recommended assembly order, calculated as the to assemble figure multiplied by the components per assembly.
This quantity is displayed per order, as a total per assembly, and as an overall total. |
Replenishment tab for subassemblies
If a variant is both a component and an assembly, the replenishment tab will use elements from both the assembly version and the component version.
