The Summary tab provides an overview of your item or group, including an at-a-glance snapshot of critical forecast and replenishment metrics. You’ll see how the item is performing and how each metric is changing over time over both a year-on-year and 30-day rolling period.

For items, you’ll see an image of the item, its identifiers (for example, SKU), and its catalog details (for example, options or brand). For aggregated views, you’ll see how many variants are in the group with a link to view them in the Inventory KPIs report.

Inventory planning performance

In the inventory planning performance section, you’ll see several important metrics. If the item or group has at least a year of history, you’ll see the percentage change year-on-year (YoY) and within the last 30 days. If it has less than a year of history, you’ll only see the latter.

Metrics are color-coded based on whether the change is good or bad. If it’s good, it will be displayed in green.

The metrics are:

Importance

Metric name

Definition

Ideal change

Critical

The percentage of time items were out of stock over the period.

Decrease

Critical

The percentage of opening stock sold during the period.

Increase

Critical

GMROI (Gross Margin Return On Investment) shows you how much profit you’ve made in comparison to the cost of your inventory.

Increase

An approximation of the units not sold due to stockouts.

Decrease

The average amount spent on stock per day over the period.

Decrease

The total number of sales made in the period.

Increase

For more information on a specific metric, click its name in the table above to be taken to the Glossary entry for that metric.

30 days sales velocity

The 30 days sales velocity is the average number of sales per month for the item or group. You’ll also see a label telling you whether the average is increasing or decreasing. Learn more about the sales velocity here.

Sells out in

The sells out in metric tells you when your item or group is predicted to sell out. Learn more about the sells out in metric here.

Item information

The item information displayed depends on whether you’re viewing the Details page for an individual item or a group, and then on what kind of item or group it is.

For individual items, you’ll see its name, SKU (and other identifiers), any options, its category, its brand, and any tags.

If the item is a bundle, assembly, bundle component, assembly component, or IP variant, you’ll also see a label telling you so.

For aggregated views, you’ll see the number of variants in the group and a link to the Inventory KPIs list filtered to those products.

If you’re viewing a product group, you’ll also see the product’s name, identifiers, category and brand, but no options or tags, as those are applied on the variant level.

You’ll see IP tags on either the individual items or the product group view, depending on the “IP tags apply to variants instead of products” admin setting. Learn more about admin-only settings here.

On all views, you will also see created at, first sold at and last sold at dates.

Components

Note: The components section is only displayed if the item is an assembly or bundle.

In this section, you’ll see a link to the assembly or bundle catalog filtered to display the parent and components.

Below that, you’ll see a table listing the components.

The table columns are:
